Coaching Skills for Managers
Coaching has seen huge growth in recent years with a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development survey reporting that over 75% of companies use coaching as a development tool. Benefits reported from coaching include: improved performance, reduced stress and better communication skills.
This course gives a comprehensive introduction to coaching in an organisational context. It demonstrates how to make coaching effective and how its use can improve organisational and personal performance. It also provides delegates with best practice guidelines and the latest thinking in this fast developing area.
Who should attend?
The course gives an introduction to coaching and is suitable for anyone with an interest in coaching. It is aimed at those with little experience of coaching and is appropriate for anyone with responsibility for developing others, including in-house mentors and managers looking to enhance staff development. The course benefits delegates from both the private and public sectors and suits organisations of any size.
Managers taking part in our programmes learn how to use the coaching tools covered in the course and gain a self awareness that is vital for a coaching approach to management. As such, this course is suitable for anyone from senior to junior management levels as well as specialists.
Benefits to individual and the organisation
This two day course is highly practical and interactive with participants encouraged to test the ideas in a safe and confidential environment. It focuses on applying the approach in specific contexts and identifies personal development opportunities.
Participants are encouraged to discuss the material and reflect on how they can apply the ideas to real life issues they face at work.
"Using real life issues to practice the coaching skills was very illuminating. I not only learnt how to use basic coaching tools and the potential power of this approach, I learnt a lot about my interaction with people can be improved for the benefit of the organisation."
