What makes Oxford Brookes different?

Whether you're in Oxford or on our virtual campus, we offer an intensive, collaborative experience which changes the way you think and lead. We support you on a challenging journey which accelerates your self-development and career progression.

Innovation in teaching, accredited quality, experienced staff, and links with business and education around the world: there's nowhere quite like Oxford Brookes University Business School.

Innovation in teaching and learning

Our reputation for innovation and excellence in teaching is underlined by consistently high ratings in the UK university guides. We are home to not one, but two multi-million-pound Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Association of MBAs

Our MBA is accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), which is internationally recognised as the global standard for MBA programmes. It means you can be certain that our entire MBA provision has passed a rigorous independent assessment. On graduation you are entitled to become a member of AMBA, giving you access to a huge network of MBA graduates around the world.

EPAS Accreditation

Our MBA is accredited by EPAS, an international programme accreditation system operated by EFMD. Only business and management programmes that have an international perspective and are of an appropriately high quality, such as our MBA, are accredited by EPAS.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants

Our strategic alliance with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is a unique relationship. It gives access to ACCA members with credit for Accounting and Finance and the elective modules of the Global MBA. We draw on ACCA's expertise of delivering education globally, and all our distance learning students can use their examination centres in more than 170 countries around the world.

ACCA is the global body for professional accountants, with 140,000 members and 404,000 students. ACCA offers business-relevant, first-choice qualifications to people of application, ability and ambition around the world who seek a rewarding career in accountancy and finance.

Research and links with industry

We have deep, well-established links with businesses in the UK and internationally. This enables us to design our programmes with continual feedback on employer requirements, and to identify career and placement opportunities for our students. From day one, employability is a key focus, and we prepare you to operate in a dynamic global environment. Our careers team can help you find the right position when you graduate.

Staff with business experience

The majority of our staff have experienced successful careers in business, and this brings realism and practical insight to our teaching, underpinned by rigorous academic content. Guest speakers from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors provide a valuable opportunity to learn from practising experts.

We also draw on expertise from around the University; for example, the Department of Publishing, the School of Technology and the School of the Built Environment all contribute to our range of electives, consultancy projects and dissertation topics.

Your MBA draws from the School's expertise in coaching and mentoring, enabling you to receive one-to-one support for your development (not available on Global MBA programme).

Relationships overseas

We take great pride in our special relationships with overseas universities, including the Polish Open University, the Grenoble Graduate School of Business, the International Business School in Budapest, Tsinghua University in Beijing (one of the top universities in the People's Republic of China), and Hong Kong City University. All our students benefit from our global approach to business education, but you may also take an elective with one of our partners as an intensive one-week block in another country.

"My MBA has greatly increased my understanding of wider business challenges and significantly increased my self-belief and confidence. I am now in a Business Manager position in Australia leading a team of business improvement consultants in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth. I firmly believe that I would not have secured this career-changing position if I had not successfully achieved my MBA."

Paul Heaton
Business Manager, Australia and full-time MBA graduate
