The Global MBA

Next admission: July 2012
Application deadline: 1 June 2012

The Global MBA, delivered through distance learning, enables you to maintain your career and to study at times which fit in with your personal and work demands. As you progress through the Global MBA you can apply the latest management thinking directly to your workplace.

The distance learning mode of delivery on the Global MBA offers you a flexible way to achieve your MBA, the most sought-after management qualification. We bring the University to you, and provide you with a virtual learning environment that is both challenging and supportive. Tutors facilitate structured online debates on business issues, in groups of around 25 involving students from all over the world, making this a truly global programme where international experiences can be shared and global networks developed. This provides both companionship and support, features that are often missing on distance learning MBA programmes.

77% of Oxford Brookes MBA graduates have reported an increase in their salary since completing their MBA.

Global MBA students have the opportunity to join an overseas trip to one of our partner institutions. This is a chance to join the Full-time and Executive MBA students to network and share experiences and to work on group projects in another country, further expanding your global business understanding.

"I was concerned that studying online would be an isolated experience, but the support received from Oxford Brookes and the high levels of interaction with other students in the online seminars was fantastic."

Commercial Finance Manager, Virgin Media, UK

Fees

The course is paid for in five instalments. Payment of the first instalment of £5,500 GBP is required to confirm your place on the programme at least one month before it starts. The balance of £7,000 GBP can be paid in four staged payments over the following 18 months.

Please note that the course fee includes all costs associated with this programme, including materials, exams and any re-sits that you may require. This includes textbooks, study guides, online seminars, tutor and administrative support, access to the Virtual Campus and Virtual Library, assessment and examinations at regular examination centres worldwide. Tuition fees and materials for the compulsory three-day workshops are also included in the programme fee; however, students are responsible for payment of their own travel, accommodation and conference centre costs whilst attending the workshops.

The total cost of the Global MBA programme is £12,500. A discount is available for ACCA members and Oxford Brookes University alumni; please see the Fees page for further details.

You can start in January or July

The Global MBA has two intakes each year, in January and July, and can be completed in 30 months. Examinations can be taken at more than 200 examination centres worldwide and special centres can be established if required.

Oxford Brookes University offers you three ways to achieve your MBA - your degree certificate will state 'Oxford Brookes MBA'.

Student profile

"You would not believe the difference that an MBA can make to your career, and that the difference can be instantaneous. As a self-employed management consultant, my enhanced CV now means that I can access larger clients with more challenging projects. It has also meant an instant pay rise of over 30%!

I am currently working as a business transformation consultant within a FTSE-100 company, a role I wouldn't even have been considered for before I gained my MBA.

Distance learning was the only way I was going to be able to follow an MBA programme. I travel a lot in my work, but always have internet access, so wherever I was I could keep up with my studies, even on the train!

The student body on the Oxford Brookes Global MBA programme is so widespread that I made many new international contacts as I studied and learnt about business practices from all over the world.

I don't think that any other MBA programmes can offer this global reach, and it's a real advantage."

Management Consultant and Global MBA graduate

An Opportunity to develop an area of interest

A special feature of the Oxford Brookes MBA is the option to carry out a consultancy project instead of a dissertation: you apply your learning and skills to a real business issue facing an organisation. There is also the opportunity to develop an area of interest through the study of electives. Find out more.
